Moving Forward in the Workplace

State-of-the-Art, Expanding Operations

Consumers' demand for Toyota vehicles has led to GST's need for bigger and more technologically sophisticated facilities. Current Houston-area construction includes a corporate center and our 200-acre Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) with state-of-the-art inventory systems and vehicle-tracking technology. As our vehicle processing increases, our transport supplier has upgraded its delivery capabilities with new facilities, leading-edge technology and advances in transport vehicle design.

A Commitment to the Environment

U.S. Green Building Council logo

Like Toyota, GST shares a deep belief in environmental conservation. This commitment is reflected not only in our energy-efficient hybrid vehicles but in our commitment to constructing new properties according to the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) specifications. These "green buildings" are designed to conserve water and energy and are constructed of substantially more recycled building materials than traditional buildings. Our future, LEED-engineered corporate campus, situated on a 16-acre tract in West Houston, will include a conference center, fitness facilities, jogging trails, parkland and beautiful views of Buffalo Bayou.

GST is proud to be associated with the nation's first "green" auto dealership. Located near Dallas, Texas, this Toyota dealership is the first ever to obtain LEED certification. Our business partner and transport supplier, GST Transport Systems, operates from a 35-acre, LEED-certified facility in North Houston.

In addition, GST shares Toyota's support for National Public Lands Day, America's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance our country's public lands.

Supporting Communities

GST has been a supporter of local neighborhoods since our inception. Our community involvement includes funding of youth scholarships; participation in community organizations such as Texas Parks & Wildlife, United Way, Junior Achievement, the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, the Cattle Raisers Association, and the MS150 Bike Tour; and support of local elementary schools and high school vocational programs.

In addition, GST helped establish a disaster relief fund that contributed $2 million to assist Gulf Coast-area dealership associates and their families recover from the destruction caused by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Tropical Storm Allison.

Embracing Diversity

GST is an Equal Opportunity Employer actively engaged in increasing minority opportunities in our company. Our outreach efforts include active minority recruitment, participation in the InRoads minority internship program, support of minority scholarships, development of relationships with minority-owned suppliers, contributions to minority business conferences and foundations, and cultivation and support of minority- and women-owned Toyota dealerships. GST is also one of the leading sponsors of the Texas Diversity Council.
